The "Brauhaus Kloster Machern", opened the first of May 2004 in the monastery of Machern, with its own brewery is the ideal location for your celebrations, events and day trips.
The ancient walls of the monastery, which was founded in 1084 as an abbey of the Benedictine order, are a wonderful backdrop for private parties, weddings and christenings with up to 350 guests. You can get married in the chappelle of the monastery and the beautiful baroque hall provides a fitting venue for the subsequent celebrations. We invite you to lunch or dine (buffets and menus), have coffee and gateaux or relax in historical surroundings after an eventful day sightseeing on the Moselle.
The terrace with seating for 200 and the self-service beer garden with seating for 200 entice you to linger. With one of the moderately priced, excellent regional dishes and a glass (or perhaps two) of beer, brewed on the premises, it's easy to forget time in this wonderful setting on the banks of the Moselle. And a guided tour of the brewery followed by a sampling of the product is a must for every beer fan (notification in advance is necessary)!
And we don't neglect our younger guests either: the outside facility with an area of over 8500 square feet and a museum of dolls and toys offer your children ample opportunity to enjoy themselves.
We can organise beer and wine tastings, theme parties, boat trips on the Moselle, canoe tours, hiking or biking tours through the vineyards or along the Moselle ... ask us to make a suggestion just for you.
We can also offer reasonably comfortable accomodation either in the Hotel St. Stephanus in Zeltingen-Rachtig or in the Hotel Moselpark Eventresort in Bernkastel-Kues.
